Texas State Fair – Spirit of the Horse

A few weeks ago, I was given the opportunity to volunteer at the Texas State Fair, working with Robert Liner (Equine-In-Line) and the Spirit of the Horse exhibition. It was a busy week and a very enjoyable experience. I look for these types of opportunities where ever I can find them in my quest to become a better horseman. You see, we don’t even own a horse yet (but still ride multiple times a week). I have been working on learning everything I can about horses before jumping into the ownership aspect. I’ve ridden with Robert and the folks at Equine In Line a few times and I always learn something new about horses when I get the chance to be with them. During the week of the fair, I learned some things about lead ropes, halters, feed & care, western ware (well, more about cowboy gear – which is different than western ware), horse behavior, and more. I even had the opportunity to ride in the show.

Here is a photo from the show:

If you are the Frisco Texas area, and would like to learn more about horses, check out the folks at Equine In Line.
