Last night we went out to the barn for our weekly riding class. The weather had turned slightly warmer so we didn’t need to bundle up as much. We tacked up our usual horses, Sarah with Tio and myself with Vegas. I think the horses were enjoying the warmer temps as well because they didn’t seem as stiff. I watched Sarah working on Tio for a bit and she is doing wonderfully. Sarah is working on riding with collection at walk, trot, and canter and I must say that she is making huge progress. Sarah is riding with more confidence and looks more relaxed (less stiff) while riding.
I was thinking about my ride afterwards… I felt like I had a good ride last night, and was also working on collection with Vegas. I could tell that I am progressing, but sometimes – it doesn’t necessarily feel like progress. One thing for sure from my ride last night – I am sure I worked harder than Vegas did. I think I need more time in the saddle in the coming weeks where I can stop and focus on what I am doing, before doing it.
All-in-all, it’s just good to get out with the horses and into the saddle.
Talk to you later,
